Audience research (focus group)


The role of audience research -
  • Expectations of the audience
  • Undesirable
  • Predictability
  • Purpose of watching - conventional / unconventional
  • common interests
  • Films they enjoyed and why?
  • Characters - conventional - gender roles
  • Opening sequence
  • Connotations of name 
Me and my group will be conducting a focus group with around 6- 10 people , this will be beneficial to us as it will allow us to meet with our potential target market and see what they think of our ideas. From this we can gain a developed feedback of what they would change of our ideas or how we could make them more suitable for them. However before we undertake we will need to create a consent form for them to sign, this will include

 
·         A statement about the purpose of the focus group
·         Where this focus group evidence (video) will be featured
·         It is invited so there is the option to decline the invite
·         It is open to opinion with no right or wrong answers
·         A place to sign for agreement
